Database Administrator

The Database Administrator will be responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of production and non–production databases. The individual will develop and or approve stored procedures, triggers, indexes, and views in support of application development projects. Their tasks will also include assisting in the creation of ClickSquared database and security standards. They will implement and support database backups and recovery procedures. Additionally, they will be responsible for performance tuning, monitoring database systems, growth forecasting and performing database software installation and configurations.
:: Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure and administer multiple SQL Server databases
- Perform backup, recovery, archiving, performance tuning and optimization of databases
- Create and execute high–performance data load procedures
- Design and implement relational data aggregations to support reporting and analysis requirements
- Administer user privileges according to corporate security guidelines
- Provide on–call support for mission–critical database environments
- Work with the IT organization to coordinate necessary hardware and infrastructure tasks (e.g., storage, servers, etc.) to support the database environments
- Participate in hardware selection and configuration to ensure optimal database performance and reliability
- Participate in code review to assist development staff in optimizing SQL statements
- Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests from business users and ClickSquared clients
- Accurately and consistently document all deliverables per the methodology determined by the project manager
- Performs other related duties as required
:: Education, Knowledge & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with production systems
- 3+ years of experience with SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 — these are a MUST
- Familiarity with SQL Server Data Transformation / Integration Services, Reporting Services and Analysis Services
- More than 3 years professional IT experience with a demonstrated interest in developing SQL DBA skills
- Knowledge of NT System Administration and security administration
- Ability to work independently and support multiple user groups
- Solid understanding of project life cycles and industry standard methodologies
- Ability to work well with all team members, external and internal
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
